Suposhit Ghaziabad Project by Aahar Se Upchaar Foundation

Building a Malnutrition-Free Ghaziabad Through Collective Action

A joint initiative of Aahar Se Upchaar Foundation, District Administration, and CSR partners to combat malnutrition and empower children through nutrition, healthcare, and community engagement.

Problem Statement - The Challenge in Ghaziabad

Despite rapid urban growth and economic development, child malnutrition remains a significant challenge in Ghaziabad.

Child malnutrition remains a critical challenge in Ghaziabad, According to the District Nutrition Profile (NFHS-5), with 28% of children under five stunted, 17% wasted, 23% underweight, and 62% affected by anemia.

Malnutrition is driven by multiple interconnected factors, including inadequate dietary intake, poor infant and young child feeding practices, limited access to quality healthcare, micronutrient deficiencies, low nutrition awareness, and socio-economic vulnerabilities.

Many Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) children remain unidentified or do not receive timely intervention, increasing the risk of illness, developmental delays, and long-term health complications.

Addressing this challenge requires a coordinated approach involving government departments, healthcare systems, communities, and CSR partners.

Through targeted nutrition interventions, community mobilization, capacity building, and continuous monitoring, Suposhit Ghaziabad aims to ensure that every child receives the nutrition, care, and support needed to lead a healthy and productive life.
